Ok, here’s the deal, Get a lot of money, sell cars, re do races whatever, you need money. Buy a tier 3 car if you don’t already have one. I raced the ford gt and it handles well. You need to get every performance mod available. Don’t even waste your time w/o all the mods. Set your tires to drift, set your suspension to overstear and set your brakes to rear bias. Also set everything else to acceleration (low end power) Now if you made it this far you should be able to make it through the first 3 races no problem, use speed breaker when necessary. In the circuit with just him, use the shortcuts, they really help. There is one short cut that is on the right side just after a strait, saves tons of time. Also there’s one that takes the last leg off an s turn. Learn how to nail it, cuz if u hit it, it no longer helps. Use speed breaker on the s turn and try to arrive at the s with it full so you can speed break right into the shortcut. For the final race, He is un beatable point wise, I got 250,000 and still lost when it was my turn, you have to pass him. The key is braking so you don’t hit the wall but not so much you slow down. Hit the brake right before the turn then cost into it. Once 1/3 of the way through gun it. Now if you have a powerful enough car you should be right behind him coming out of the strait away. Barely brake on the next turn, its not to bad and try to shoot around him. If you get around him just drive like h*** barley braking, if he rams you its not a pass. Use your mirror to keep him behind. If you pass the 1st w/o winning don’t even go to the 2nd round just restart. If you set up your car as suggested it should glide around the turns ok w/o to much braking. Having the rear brake bias will make the rear wheels slide around. I tried using the hand brake around the turns and found it very unpredictable and I was constantly spinning out. Good Luck. BTW I liked Most Wanted better, this game only took 2 weeks to beet and I don’t play daily.

I beat him using my Lancer tuned to what Mr Crdloader mentioned to do but I didn't use his strategy to beat him, I ended up passing him up for a couple of seconds on that one part after the two consecutive turns (once you play you'll know what I'm talking about once you've played the match)
and went on to the second part of the duel with around 145,000 points. |

The game handicaps Darius based on how fast you accelerate and turn. It seems to be dynamic as opposed to trying to figure out how fast your car and hop-up parts are, as drivng a fast car slow keeps Darius slow, but once you speed up so will Darius. For most cars, there seems to be a key point about 3/4th the way through the track where Darius takes the turn slow. This is the spot you'lll usually pass him. I made a video that shows 4 runs at the same time. The top 2 are fast cars, and the bottom two are slow cars, the timing is different but Darius gets passed at the same spot in all 4 runs:

The top two cars were a Audi Quattro (via a hack), and a maxed out Lancer. The bottom two cars were a stock 350Z and a stock 240SX. In order to win the first 3 events with stock cars, I used a lot of speedbreaker (note that the cheats for infinite nitrous and infinite speedbreaker work in career mode). Again, the handicapping in the game allows the slower cars to win.
Another strategy is to use the Z06 and pass Darius early on (1st part shows quick win, 2nd part shows a normal win):

Legendary Chicken Chaser [ Chaser of Chickens, Hero of Albion ]
It seems the Lancer and Corvette are the best top tier cars to use on him. Lancer is better at manuvering than Darius, corvette will blow him away in accelleration. The Legend lives on... Well, as long as he continues to be bored. |
